Washington! The state, not the president or District of Columbia.

So far so good on the tour :) We left Boulder Sunday afternoon. We were hoping to get out early in the day, but dead batteries, low oil, power steering fluid, coolant and a temperamental generator on the bus made it late afternoon before we took off. Once we got going though, it was pretty smooth. We made it just across the border of Utah on the first day of driving. Bekah and I had gone to bed before Carter pulled off the road. We woke up to a gorgeous view at a place called Echo Canyon. We walked around a bit outside and took a few pictures. Driving through Utah and Idaho was amazing. I had no idea that area of the US was so beautiful. What was really interesting to me was seeing how different the mountains are across the US. I'd grown up in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia which are pretty small as far as mountains go, but very forested and beautiful in that way. When I got out to Colorado and saw the Rockies I was amazed at of course how large and how rocky they are (you'd think the name would have given it away). The mountains we passed through in Utah and Idaho were so barren though. Even here in Washington (Yakima to be precise) there is little more than grass growing on them it seems. Oh yeah, they have gigantic leaves here too.

I got to see a canyon too. That was breathtaking.

I drove a bit on Tuesday. I've mentioned it to some people, but for those who don't know, Lazer Vaudeville has a tour bus which tows a truck behind it. Driving this for the first time was one of the most frightening experiences of my life. Luckily, Carter drives it when the roads are sketchy or the weather is bad or when we're in towns. I don't see this lasting too much longer though. When I'm not driving on the bus, I've been spending time just hanging out in the main area of the bus with everyone else and helping keep Theo (Carter and Cindy's 2 year old son) under control. I have gotten some time to start working on a juggling video that should be out if all goes well sometime around christmas or the new year.

It's been a blast making this video so far. I've never made one quite this long though. It was a bit daunting after I sorted through all the clips (about 7 hours worth of video). Out of all that video, I imagine there will be about 10 minutes worth of actual good material to use though. My biggest challenge so far has been trying to decide how to group the different clips. I'm leaning towards a combination of tricks filmed in similar locations, clips that have similar tricks in them, easier tricks, and then harder/crazier tricks, etc.

We got to Yakima on Tuesday. We have two shows on Wednesday, one at 10 in the morning and one at noon. The shows are for school groups, and apparently kids will be bused in to the theater. Load in went really smoothly and quickly. The theater we're playing in is awesome! It is called the capitol theater. I hope to have time to take pictures tomorrow before, between or after our shows. I think it would be neat to start a collection of pictures of the theaters I play during the tour.

I've also started watching an anime (yes...for those who don't know I am a gigantic nerd...) called "Death Note". So far its really interesting. I'll spare you the details regarding what its about, but, if anime is your thing then I'd suggest checking it out :)

Anyway, time to relax a bit before I go to sleep. Got to be on the bus and ready to head to the theater at 8 AM. Hope you all enjoy reading this! Let me know what kinds of things you'd enjoy hearing about while I'm on the road.
